Another Giveaway!

So I looked at the calendar the other day and realized that summer is almost over. Sure, there's a few good weeks left in August and September and October haven't been as cold as previous years, but we're getting too close to the end of one of my favorite seasons. And it makes me sad.

But I know that not everyone is dreading the end of summer and are ready for kids to go back to school and the air to turn a bit chillier. And there is nothing more perfect during those cooler fall days than comfort food. That's why this book would be absolutely perfect.

Bake Until Bubbly

Bake Until Bubbly is a cookbook dedicated to one of the most popular comfort foods, The Casserole. And it's not just about your normal Tuna Noodle Casserole or Baked Mac and Cheese. This book runs the gamet from Breakfast casseroles, such as Blueberry Brunch or Stuffed French Toast all the way to dessert casseroles, such as Blackberry and Cream Cheese Crepes Casserole and Cranberry-Apple-Walnut Crisp. There's even some great vegetarian options thrown in there. Probably my favorite section is the "Casseroles from Other Countries" section, which includes casseroles from Greece, France, and Brazil.

For your chance to win, simply leave me a comment with your name and one of your favorite things you did this summer. Leave a comment by midnite on Tuesday, August 19th. Winner will be announced on Wednesday, August 20th.

Lots of camping! We bought the biggest tent you ever saw, and have spent the summer camping whenever we can. Smores, marshmallows, veggie burgers and asparagus grilled over the fire. Not 'gourmet' perhaps, but tastes so good :)

I have really enjoyed making lots of whole-lemon lemonade!

It's hard to pick just one thing, but I think the favorite thing I did this summer was attending the R.E.M. show at The Greek Theatre in Berkeley. The view of SF from there was really gorgeous, the concert was great, and it was an amazing way to kick off my new life in California (I'd just arrived a week before).

Tending my garden has been great fun this summer. It amazes me how much one can produce with such a small space!!

I made creme brule like it's my job. (Which it is not, by the way.) A whole new worlds of desserts and custards have opened up!

I've been to lots of great outdoor festivals (HonFest, Artscape) in Baltimore, experiencing local vendors pit-roasted foods. That, and tending to my first-ever garden... carmen peppers aplenty!

Hello, I'm Judith and I'm an alco...

I love casseroles! My favorite thing this summer was having a friend visit from Washington in the middle of an apocalyptic flood and going downtown in a downpour because we were afraid the bridge would wash out and the water would become contaminated. It was quite an adventure. My friend actually had to lift me up with my foot in her hands in order to get the last bottle of water on the top shelf.

Visiting Knobels! Yes, I needed my rollercoaster fix, and as always, Knoebels rocks.

The best thing I did this summer was start my own food blog. Blogging is fun and addicting, but my husband is tired of waiting to eat until I've taken photos.

I am actually not a fan of summer...it is my least favorite season! So hot and humid--ugg. BUT, one of my favorite things I did this summer was starting to ride my bike to and from work. I hardly use my car at all anymore, and that makes me happy :o)

I love casseroles and I am looking forward to fall--my favorite season!

My favorite thing this summer was seeing my kids get brave at the pool. Lots of firsts for them: One went under the water for the 1st time, one jumped off the 8-foot springboard, and one jumped off the 16-foot platform.

Mmm...casseroles.

Just the words, "Bake until Bubbly" make me drool and want winter. I spent the summer gardening and deciding how/where to plant my Hosta garden this fall. I can just see putting a casserole into the oven that I made before gardening and then taking a nice long bath and then!! Then sitting down with my DH to a gread dinner!

After living 4 hours apart for 37 years, my Mother and I are now less than one mile from each other. This summer has been filled with home cooked meals together. August 20th is her birthday - what a great gift "Bake until Bubbly" would be!!

Good morning! My favorite thing I have been doing this summer is tending and eating from my garden. I did raised beds this year, which has made it much easier to tend and everything has grown so much nicer. Nothing tastes better than a fresh tomato you hand pick from your own garden that you lovingly tended all summer.

The best thing I got to do this summer was hang out with my kids every day. They'll be all grown up too soon, and want to be hanging out with all their friends instead of me. So I'm enjoying it all while I can.

it's kind of hard to tell summer from the rest of the seasons in san diego. i guess my favorite thing we did this summer was have a baby!

I spent a weekend in a resort with a close friend. She lives in a different city and we don't see each other as often as we'd like.

Since it's the most recent event I enjoyed this summer, I would have to say going to the county fair. Small town America lives. We may have problems just like everywhere else, but at county fair time, we seem to make a collective effort to paint our reality in Norman Rockwell colors. And it's okay to eat junky food at the fair. And by the way? My Summer Berry Pie with lattice crust won a blue ribbon!

Oh how I'd love to add this to my collection! Summer happens to be my least favorite season but one thing I do appreciate about it is the variety of summer produce and fruits available! I visited a lot of farmers' markets this summer! :)

Oh my gracious, that books looks divine!

One of my favorite memories is when my mother's whole side of the family vacationed TOGETHER in the Smokey Mountains. It was our first time seeing some of them for 15 yrs!

I am a member of a Japanese Taiko drumming group in Anchorage, AK. August 11th we had a joint concert with 17 visiting Japanese drummers. A few days before the concert we took our guests camping at the Matanuska Glacier and brought our drums. Playing taiko in front of the glacier was unforgetable.

My favorite summertime activity has been playing UNO with my 4 year old grandson. He loves it whether he wins or loses just wants to play "one more game grandma".
And tomorrow is my birthday.
And I love casseroles.
Thanks for the contest.

Having moved from Minnesota to Colorado, I miss having casseroles (as we call them, "Hot Dishes.") This summer, I competed in 2 triathlons. This was an all new adventure for me since I had never swam a lap in my life and I don't even own a bike. I met my goals of finishing and not embarrassing myself.

My favorite things that I did this summer were ziplining on Grouse Mountain during my vacation to Vancouver, eating my weight in summer fruits, churning many gallons of ice cream, and getting great use out of my grill. That said, I am TOTALLY ready to use my oven again. Bake Until Bubbly sounds like an exciting way to kick start the fall season.

My favorite thing this summer was figuring out that insoluble fiber was causing my severely painful gut attacks, then learning which foods had more soluble fibers so my painful attacks hardly happen now, YAY! I've only had a few minor attacks, and those were from gambling on unknown foods. Live and learn.

Now I can go outside and garden or ride my bike, instead of moping in the house.
