28 Cooks is currently mourning the loss of a dear, recently purchased but 2 months over warranty friend, Herr Refrigerator. It died with its fickleness, as well as its entire contents.
We'll miss you, old friend. But I think we'll miss the tapenade, the goat cheese, and the rest of your contents more.
28 Cooks will return to its regulary scheduled postings on Monday. By then, we hope to have learned to love again...
And probably not forgiven for taking all those goodies with him. There is nothing to match a kitchen disaster to put life and blogging on hold. How do they build them to just last the warrenty!???
I've just started to like goats cheese and i can assure you, i'm grieving with you. But, a new friend awaits you - you just have to find him/her in the electrical department! Good luck.
I highly recommend the LG with freezer on bottom. Or, really, any freezer-on-bottom style unit. They are truly so awesome. More energy efficient, too. We got ours at Best Buy for around $500 (free delivery and install!) because it was slightly dented and last (floor) model. Woot!
I would gladly adopt the freshly resurrected frankenfridge... anything to beat the oversized dorm refrigerator they deemed "appropriate" for my apartment.
Stupid croaking 2 months out of warranty. Stupid killing the tapenade and goat cheese. Stupid leaky bags that left a trail across the entire parking lot, which I followed to your porch this morning... Farewell fickle fridge, farewell...
Oh, Herr and I spent some good times together. He chilled my champagne to just the temperature that I asked of him! And he knew to keep a diet coke cold for me for the morning.
*cough cough* it's Tuesday. Where is our regularly scheduled posting? How will I live without appealing pictures of food, and the stalkery knowledge of your daily meals?
I'm waiting for the day my fridge finally gives up the ghost (and the food). Every once in a while it makes the most horrid sound...kind of like it's coughing up a hairball...maybe that's where the cats learned their tricks ;)
Nice recipe! Curious about using the olive oil--hadn't thought of using it in a sweet muffin before.
R.I.P. Herr Refrigerator.
ReplyDeleteYou are gone, but never forgotten.

I am very sorry for your loss, especially as we seem to be talking about a german expat just like me.
ReplyDeleteRuhe in Frieden Herr Kühlschrank.
Anyway, am looking forward to your new refrigerator and more posts!

ReplyDeleteGo in peace, old friend.
So sad. I recomment Kenmore if you haven't gotten one yet.
