And I used a mixed nut butter instead of tahini. I mashed it all up and mmmmm. I actually licked the bowl! The citrus flavor becomes more pronounced after a couple of days. Which makes it even better. The best part is that my 10 yo actually ate a whole meal consisting of only veggies and hummus and then asked to take some for snack the next day.Rachhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15249708595170127524noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17652046.post-58272004822247553962007-03-06T16:25:00.000-05:002007-03-06T16:25:00.000-05:00I just tried this hummus for the first time last n...I just tried this hummus for the first time last night. The orange and ginger flavours were amazing however, and I quickly warmed up to this variation of hummus.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17652046.post-30546967454074573912007-03-06T14:26:00.000-05:002007-03-06T14:26:00.000-05:00what a brilliant mix of flavors. one i would neve...what a brilliant mix of flavors. one i would never thought up on my own. thanks so much for the recipe! i can't wait to try it.

i love that you used sprouts! they're my fav!Lindahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01802742232541759535noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17652046.post-27866475618160303282007-03-04T16:29:00.000-05:002007-03-04T16:29:00.000-05:00Gray - to be honest, it never usually lasts a long...Gray - to be honest, it never usually lasts a long time at my house, so I'm not sure how long. I only worry about animal sources of fat - dairy products, eggs, butter, etc. Hummus is such a healthy, whole food!Rachaelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12174370689197345283noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17652046.post-41495505911919070352007-03-04T14:52:00.000-05:002007-03-04T14:52:00.000-05:00What an interesting way to prepare hummus! I'll definitely give it a try!

Regarding calories and fat content, tahini, made from sesame seeds, brings some to the party as well. But not too much in the quantities you use. Here's what O Chef says: "Tahini is a little more than half fat, but only 10% of the fat is saturated. So a 1-ounce serving, which is equivalent to about 30 grams, has 16 grams of fat, 2 of which are saturated."Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
